Description

The Miriga Tipa Middle Pasapali Chandan Khandua Silk Saree is a masterpiece of single ikat weaving, where either the warp or weft is tied and dyed before weaving. This technique creates exquisite curvilinear patterns. The saree, with a length of 5.35 metres, a width of 47 inches, and weighing 434 grams, embodies a perfect blend of tradition and craftsmanship, making it ideal for both special occasions and daily elegance.

About the Craft:

Khandua, dating back to the 12th century, is deeply rooted in the rituals of Lord Jagannath's temple in Puri, Odisha. Woven in the largest cluster of Nuapatna, Odisha, it features intricate motifs such as stars, temples, conches, and more, all inspired by nature. This single ikat saree showcases the weavers' skill in creating delicate patterns, a tradition that has been preserved over centuries.

Care Instructions:

Dry clean only to maintain the silk’s sheen and texture.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to avoid colour fading
